SUBJECT

The present course is designed to provide training for acquiring the competence of “Rating forming part of a watch in a manned engine-room or designated to perform duties in a periodically unmanned engine-room” for the merchant fleet under the provisions of Regulation III/4 of the STCW’78, as amended.

ENTRY STANDARDS

The applicants for this course shall meet the following requirements:

-be not less than 18 years of age

-have completed secondary education and hold the appropriate diploma

-be medically fit, proved by medical certificate issued by an approved medical institution

-have completed Basic Safety Training; the practice hours shall be conducted on board a ship in service.

UPDATING OF THE COURSE

The national standard for the course, the course outline and the teaching syllabus have been drawn up in compliance with the requirements of the STCW’78, as amended,  Directive 2008/106/ EC, as amended and supplemented by Directive 2012/35/EU and the requirements of Ordinance No 6 On the Competence of the Seafarers in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Upon any changes of these requirements, the programme shall be updated in compliance with the QMS procedures of the ADS Sea Center
